Miss Mary Aloise Miles, age 98, of Crockett, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at her residence. She was born March 20, 1916 in Pennington and had lived in Crockett most of her lifetime. Miss Miles had worked in the Funeral Industry and was the first lady embalmer in the State of Texas. She had also worked as a nurses aide and was an organist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Wyatt Samuel “Doc” and Claire (Bradley) Miles; brothers, Hansford B. Miles and Wyatt Miles.
Graveside funeral services for Miss Mary Aloise Miles will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Park. Interment will follow.
