Services Sunday for Mrs. Edna Cook, 98

Mrs. Edna Ellen Cook, 98, widow of Myron Cook and a life-long resident of this area died Thursday at King City Manor, where she had been receiving care several years.

Her funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. F.V. Schnucker, pastor. Mrs. Evelyn Lee Anderson, a granddaughter, sang "I Walked Today" and "The Lord's Prayer" accompanied by Miss Betty Jo Howitt, organist. Pallbearers were Rex Jameson, Harold Preston, Gordon Spiking, Lester Wheatley, Irl Piper, M.L. McCrea, Jr., Vincil Jacoby, Donald Spiking. Burial was in the King City cemetery (sic).

Mrs. Cook was born March 29, 1873, a daughter of Mary C. and James M. Copeland, pioneers in this part of the county. The farm home was northeast of King City. She attended the Karr rural school, King City high school and college in Chillicothe, Mo.

She married Myron Morris Cook in April, 1895, and they were parents of five children, four of whom survive, Mrs. Veda Fern Hoyland of Newfoundland, N.J., Joseph James Cook of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. W.B. McCrea and Mrs. Leslie Robison of King City. Also surviving are five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Carrie Greeneish of Waubay, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1923, four brothers Lee, James, Albert and Porter Copeland, the infant daughter and one sister Mrs. Dora Custer.

Mrs. Cook had been a member of the Presbyterian church since she was a child.
