The funeral for Adolph Raasch Sr., 99, of Beemer will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer.

He died Sunday,Oct. 10, 1999, at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer. Raasch was born May 7, 1900, at Beemer. He attended Cuming County rural schools. He married Alma Hass March 9, 1921, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in rural Wisner. He was in the construction business, building several churches in northeast Nebraska, including working on the present St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer and building its parsonage before retiring in 1975. His wife died July 19, 1973. He married Grace Hall Feb. 20, 1979, in Phoenix. They opened the first green house in Beemer. She died Oct. 1, 1986. Raasch entered Colonial Haven Nursing Home in the spring of 1993.He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer,serving on various offices and was a former member of Beemer Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include: six sons, Adolph (and wife, Beverly) Raasch Jr.,Harland (and wife, Rosemary) Raasch, Terry (and wife, Cindy)Raasch, all of Beemer, Lyle (and wife, Mary) Raasch of Kearney, Dallas Raasch of Harlan, Iowa, and Dean Raasch of Phoenix; two daughters, Orphia (Mrs. Warren) Ackerman and Elgene (Mrs. Lyman)Brown, both of Beemer; two sisters, Lenora Schulz of Scribner and Agatha Schulz of Beemer; 32 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by three daughters, a son, two brothers, five sisters, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Rev. James P. Carretto will officiate Thursday's service. Burial will be in Beemer Cemetery.
