Evelyn Andrews, 82, of Greenfield, formerly of South Bend, died Jan. 7, 2003, at Regency Place in Greenfield.
Born July 20, 1920, in South Bend, she was the daughter of Chester H. and Gertrude (Jacobs) Perkey.
She had been a professional seamstress who custom made wedding gowns and also did alterations for the Francis Shop in South Bend. In the 1940s she sang on the program "Sunday School on the Air" on WHOT in South Bend. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Greenfield and a former member of the First Church of god in Greenfield where she was the organist. She was one of the founding members of the mothers group and was involved with the ARC of Hancock County.
Survivors include her son Jack C. "Tuggy" Andrews of Carmel; daughters Jacqueline S. Bridgewater of Kent, Ohio and Carol J. Sauter of Greenfield; sister Lucille Liebetrau of Niles, MI; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Andrews Sr., in April 2002.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pasco Memorial Mortuary in Greenfield with the Rev. don Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
