She was born in Dorchester County, a daughter of the late James M. Dean and Mary Hutto Dean.
She has lived in Orangeburg and later in Walterboro where she was supervisor of the Walterboro Nursing Home.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George B. Rideoutte of Columbia and Mrs. David C. Godley, Sr. of Charleston; a sister, Mrs. James Posey, Orangeburg; a brother Monroe Dean, Greenville; a half-sister, Mrs. George Hayden, West Columbia; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p. m. today from the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church by Father W. L. Gatling, Jr. and the Rev. Robert E. Mathews. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thomas A. Hunt, Jr., Doughal Hancock, Jimmy E. Hayden, G. Calvin Hayden, J. M. Posey and Wilbert Posey.
