Funeral Services for Mr. C. Dewey Babers, 79, of Saline were
held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 26, 1990 in the Magnolia Baptist Church of Saline. Rev. Malcolm Self was the officiate. Burial was held at the church cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro, La.
Mr. Babers died Sunday Morning at his home in Saline after a short illness. He was born in Goldonna but had lived in Saline since 1946, where he owned and operated Babers Store for 38 years. He was formerly a vice-president of The Bank of Saline and was currently serving on the board of Directors. He served on the Saline Town Council for several years and was a member of Ashland Lodge #196, F & A M and was a 32nd degree Mason, also he was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Agnes Holman Babers of Saline, one son, Jimmy C. Babers and wife, Sue, of Roswell, Ga.; one grandson, Brandon Babers of Roswell, Ga. One nephew and three nieces also survive.
Honorary Pallbearers: M. C. Adkins, Eston Payne, George Rogers, George Cole, Jerry Weeks, Rowena Mathews.
