James L. Adcox, age 83, of Brownsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Regional Hospital of Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee.

Mr. Adcox was a carpenter for over 50 years and worked for Lewis Construction.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Brownsville–Bells Funeral Homes in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 5, 2014, in the Chapel of Brownsville–Bells Funeral Homes officiated by Bro. Eddie Martin with interment to follow in the Garden of Our Saviour in Brownsville Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include two step-daughters, Patrician (John) Neal and Dessie (Robert) Haywood, of Brownsville, TN; one step-son, Roy Leek of Florida; one sister, Evelyn Curtis of Brownsville, TN, and several extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Leek Adcox and his parents, Marion Adcox and Rosie Bell Acklin Adcox.

Pallbearers are John Neal, Shane Maddox, Roy Campbell, Josh Maddox, Danny Maddox and Corey Qualls.
