Nellie Mae Auberry, age 85, of Hayesville, NC passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at her residence.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, NC; daughter of the late John and Mary Moss Anderson. Nellie had worked at Bakers Furniture in Andrews. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Millard Auberry; brothers, Oscar Anderson, Fred Anderson and Julius Anderson and sisters, Gennessa Ingles, Lucille Maney and June Graves.

She is survived by two brothers, Charles Anderson and wife Mary Lou of Hayesville, NC and Wallace Anderson of Hiawassee, GA; one sister, Jean McFalls of Hiawassee, GA; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Derrick Palmer and Dr. Chester Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the Fires Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
