Mr. Brooks was born in Jackson County, AL on September 15, 1909, son of the late Davis and Addie Elliot Brooks. He was retired from T. T. Brooks Trucking Co. He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church and a member of Fyffe Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Brooks is survived by daughter, Jonell McNew of Fort Payne: sons, Roy Sterling Brooks of Leesburg, Rayford Elliot, Willie Bruce and Waylon Edwin Brooks, all of Fort Payne; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Emma Parker and Faye Glockner of Slidell, LA, and Marie Pendergrass of Boaz; brothers, J. D. Brooks of Rossville, GA, Wesley Brooks of Tuscaloosa and Thurston Brooks of Sylvania.
He was preceded in death by wife, Josie Brooks and son, Herschel Dean Brooks.
Funeral was Sunday, May 15 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Kenneth Parker and Howard Bouldin officiating. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery.
