Phyllis S. Diemer, 83, Rotterdam, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Amsterdam, N.Y., she was the daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth Abraham.
Phyllis graduated from Wilbur Lynch High School and went on to graduate from St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Phyllis retired from the Albany County Nursing Home after practicing nursing at area nursing homes for many years. She loved crafts, knitting and crocheting, and enjoyed going to fairs.
Her husband, John Diemer, passed away in 2007.
She is survived by her four daughters: June Esner of Duanesburg, N.Y.; Jean Relyea of Schenectady, N.Y.; Joan (Earl) Olsen of Schenectady, N.Y., and Judy (Robert) Roche of Benton; 12 grandchildren: Dennis Marx, Jessica Wagoner, Alyssa Connelly, Anthony, John and Nickole Mauceri, Jamie, Quenton, Nicholas, Tristan and Garrett Roche and Daryl Zarkevics. Phyllis is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Phyllis was predeceased by her sister, Louise Kruger.
Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, N.Y. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville.
