Funeral Services for Florian D. Smith, 70, 535 Northcrest Drive, will be at 11
a.m. Saturday in the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Memorial Park
Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Bailey will conduct the rites.
Mr. Smith died Monday in a local hospital.
He was born Dec. 20, 1913 in Mountain Park, to J. Kent and Leona Pearson Smith.
He came to this area in 1930 from Crosbyton, Texas.
Mr. Smith graduated from Ada High School and East Central University.
He was owner and operator of J. Kent Smith Jewelers from 1944 and 1979.
Mr. Smith married Rose Patterson Feb. 17, 1935. She died June 23, 1984 in Ada.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Ada Lodge No. 119 A.F. & A.M.
Mr. Smith was past president and longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Ada and
he served on the state board of watch examiners.
Survivors include two sons, Kent, Ada, and Doug, St. Louis, Mo.; one sister,
Norma Leslie, Durant; and three grandchildren.
Bearers will be William Lee, Ken Evans, Lewis Watson, Roy Zerger, Murray Johns,
and Joe Bryan.
