Judge Benjamin Monroe was born on 17 August 1790 in Virginia. His parents were Andrew Monroe and Mary Ann Bell (1764 VA - ? Woodford Co, KY). He married Cynthia Montgomery on 29 May 1813, in Adair County, Kentucky. They were the parents of ten children. He lived in Kentucky in 1840. He died on 24 March 1860, in Franklin County, Kentucky, at the age of 69, and was buried in Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky.
