Annie Jenkins Hudson, 92, died Tuesday July 22, 2014, at Roanoke Rapids Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Hudson was born in Halifax County, August 16, 1921, to the late Ollie Cannon Jenkins and Blanche Shaw Jenkins. She was a long time member at New Hope United Methodist Church and a bookkeeper for Halifax Linen for 37 years. She was a wonderful cook, especially her potato salad. Every chance she was able, she would help as many pet rescue organizations as she could because of her love for animals. She adored her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, William Hudson.

Surviving are her daughters, Gloria S. Taylor and Faye Lewis and husband, Charles, both of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-children.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service from 7-8:30 pm and all other times at the home of Gloria S. Taylor. Rev. Sue Owens will conduct funeral services in the chapel at Hockaday Friday, July 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
