MONTICELLO — Mary J. Hayward, 61, of 104 Sunset Lane, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday in White County Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan, 23,1930, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Judge Ralph C. and Lillian H. Donnelly McClurg. On Dec. 27, 1958, she was married to William "Hap" H. Hayward. who died Sept. 27,1983.

She had lived in Monticello most of her life. A member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Tri Kappa Sorority.

Surviving are one stepdaughter, Bette A. Applegate, Okeechobee, Fla.; one sister, Betty Ann Bovis, Elmhurst, Ill.; one step-granddaughter; and one step-great-grandson.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Goodrum officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
