A 49-year-old woman who was involved Friday in a traffic accident with a Calhan police car in Colorado Springs died Sunday. Nina Rhae Hisey died about 11 a.m. at Memorial Hospital, where she had been taken after the crash with what appeared to be broken ribs and a concussion. Autopsy results listing the cause of death were not available Monday. Hisey was injured while making a left turn from the westbound lanes of Platte Avenue into the southbound lanes of Circle Drive. The Ford Explorer she was driving collided with the police car, knocking her vehicle about 20 yards and crumpling the front end of the Chevrolet Impala squad car. Her husband, Dennis Hisey, their son and the police officer driving the other car received minor injuries. None of the people in the Explorer was wearing seat belts and the vehicle did not have air bags, police said. An air bag in the police cruiser did deploy.
