Marlys M. Adriansen, age 89, of Ashland, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at the Memorial Medical Center, in Ashland. Marlys was born on May 16, 1925, in Washburn, Wisconsin, the daughter of George F. and Minnie (Olson) Cudmore. She graduated from Washburn High School with the class of 1943. Marlys graduated from Ashland’s Saint Joseph School of Nursing in 1946. She and Charles Joseph Adriansen, Jr., were united in marriage, in Ashland on September 4, 1948. Together they owned and operated many businesses in Ashland including: the Crest Motel, the Tastee-Freeze, Bridgeman’s Restaurant, and the Bottle Shop. Marlys was also a nurse at Ashland Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ashland for over 22 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Saint Joseph School of Nursing Alumni. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

Survivors include: her children, Mary Kay (Townsel ‘T’) Jones, of Torrington, Wyoming; Linda Catherine (Ron) Nemec, of Washburn; Janice Marie (Rick) Vaughan, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; David Joseph (Belinda), of Minneapolis; and Diane Alice (David) Zilker, of DeForest, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, James Cudmore, of Kennewick, Washington; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husband Joe, on July 25, 1985; her parents; her sisters: Fern Polaski, and Kathleen Peterson; and asister-in-law, Annette Cudmore.
