Mildred Winfrey
Mildred A. Winfrey, 84, of Ames, died of cancer Wednesday at Northcrest Health Center there. The body was cremated, and no services are planned.
Mrs. Winfrey was born in Des Moines and had lived in Kansas City, Mo., and Denver, Colo., before moving to Ames in 1992. She was a retired secretary with Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
She is survived by two stepdaughters, Joyce Brus of Ankeny and Evelyn Nelson of Aloha, Ore. She was preceded in death by her husband, James.
Adams Funeral Home in Ames is handling arrangements.
