Abe Wardell Sheetz of Newark, DE, departed this life and into the arms of the angels on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the age of 69. Buddy was born in Washington, DC. He served in the Army from 1966 to 1968.Then in 1970 marrying his wife Joanne Sheetz of 44 years. Buddy was a maintenance technician for most of his life which extended his family with loving friends from University Village and Foxwoods Apts. His happiest times were spent with family and friends camping, fishing and boating. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need even if that meant taking from his self. Buddy went home to be with his parents Palmer and Alice Sheetz his nieces and nephew Cassandra, Danielle and John Joe Sheetz. He is survived by his wife Joanne Sheetz, daughters Alice Vandyke and Jamie Waltz, with whom he lived, Candy and Chad Gladfelter, Jody and Michael Free, stepdaughter Michelle Gillen, brothers, William, Ronnie and Johnnie Sheetz, sisters Francy Sheetz, Kathy Keith and Vicki Ritchie, grandchildren Ashley Vandyke, Justin Wardell Krieger, Colby and Hailee Waltz, Destiny and Dakota Gladfelter, Chrystal and Anna Free, great- granddaughter Madalynn. Although he left us so soon he has left us with a LIFETIME of memories. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Services will be held on Friday Sept.5th,2014 at 2:00 pm at the Veterans Memorial 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701.In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions be made to MCCRERY & HARRA FUNERAL HOME, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm.DE 19808.
