Mr Gilmore grew up in Abilene, TX; and graduated from Woodson High School in 1961.
He worked for CG Conn Company for 15 years and worked for Coca-Cola Enterprises for 13 years.
He was a member of New Light Baptist Church, where he was a member of Usher Board No 1 and NAACP.
He was a Marine Corps veteran.
He married Nancy Robinson in 1971 in Abilene, TX.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene, TX; two daughters, Montoya Burton of Abilene, TX; and Theleesa Gilmore of Houston, TX; one son, Terry Gilmore of Sweetwater, TX; his mother, Ossie Gilmore of Abilene, TX; one sister, Delores Sloan of Abilene, TX; and six grandchildren.

Burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
