Oak Hill, Ohio - John E. Walke, 73, of Oak Hill, Rt. 3, passed Monday in a Gallipolis clinic where he had been a patient three weeks.
He was a retired mine foreman.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Katie Smith Walke; a daughter, Mrs. Maxwell Wilson of Oak Hill Rt. 4; a son Spurgeon of London; three brothers, Henry and Elmer, both of Oak Hill, and Ben of Stirrat, W. Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Cyrus of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Blanche Rice of Jackson; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kuhner Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold Sturm officiating. Burial is to be in Bethel Cemetery near here. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
