JOHN H. VEHNEKAMP, 46, EXPIRES AT ELWOOD; RITES AT MONTICELLO

MONTICELLO--John H. Vehnekamp, Jr., a former well known resident of Monticello and son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Vehnekamp of 406 South Bluff street, Monticello, passed away Thursday morning at 4:30 o'clock at Elwood. The deceased, a mechanic, lived at 417 North 14th St., Elwood.

Vehnekamp was the son of William and Cecilia Marie (Kendall) Vehnekamp. The parents survive, also three daughters, Esther Jean Nelson, Chicago; Ellen Marie Rogers, Decatur, Ill.; and Anna Louise Vehnekamp, Noctor, Ky.; also a brother, William C. Vehnekamp, Casper, Wyoming; and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie M. Wagner of Remington, and Mrs. Mae Thomas of Monticello. The well known man was born in Carroll County May 11, 1912.

The body was returned from Elwood to the Smith and Aufenberg funeral home at Monticello where friends may call and where funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will be made in Riverview cemetery.
