Robert (Bob) Clyde Dent, 87, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away August 24, 2014. He was born June 20, 1927 in Council Grove, Kansas to Clyde and Ethel Dent.

Robert moved to Fort Collins over 50 years ago. He worked on several ranches in Livermore and North Park, Colorado, and also in Wyoming. Robert was also employed by Hoss Inman's Flying I Rodeo Company. He retired from PVREA after 20 years. Robert was a true cowboy and was a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, the Rodeo Cowboy Association and was a Gold Card Member of the PRCA.

Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion and the Sheriff Mounted Possee. He attended the Virginia Dale Community Church in Virginia Dale, Colorado.

Robert is survived by his wife, Norma Faye Nauta Dent; sons, Cotton Clyde (Karen) Dent, Scott Earl (Cheri) Dent; grandsons, Mathew (Jehna) Dent of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Paul (Amber) Dent of Fort Collins, Colorado, Laramie Dent and Son Kason of Fort Collins, Colorado; sister, Opal Mae Evans of Newton, Kansas.

Robert loved his horses, Hawk, Frosty, Steel and Rooster.

A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Allnutt Drake Chapel in Fort Collins, Colorado. Interment will take place at the Virginia Dale Cemetery, Virginia Dale, Colorado.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colorado 80526.
