He and his wife were buried on their farm in the Dodge Corner area of Hawley,MA. They, along with ten other families, were expelled from Hawley in 1793, possibly because of differences with or failure to offer proper support of Rev Jonathan Grout. The family of his son Silas Jr was included among this group of families. But most families eventually returned.

He married Mehitable Foster on Nov 10,1763 at Windham,CT.

Children: Zenas Lilly, Asa Lilly, Lydia Lilly, Silas Lilly Jr, Mehitable Lilly, and Enoch Lilly.
