Gladys L. Harris, age 84, of Council Bluffs, passed away August 28, 2014, at her home.
Gladys was born October 20, 1929, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, to the late John P. and Anna (Flynn) Allmon. She had 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
She was a counselor and houseparent at Iowa School for the Deaf for many years.
Gladys' first husband was a Mr. Porter, and they were blessed with 5 children. Then she was married to a Mr. Harris, who had 2 children. Gladys had 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Porter; sisters, Joyce Ellison, Darlene Pond; brothers, John, Allen, and Marvin Allmon.
Visitation 6-8 pm Monday, Sept. 1, Cutler-O'Neill Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home, 545 Willow Avenue, Council Bluffs, IA Funeral 11 am Tues., Sept. 2, also at the funeral home. Burial at Garner Township Cemetery. Memorials to Support Our Local Animal Shelters (S.O.L.A.S.)
