Born to Berry Robertson Bridges (1805-1856; grave unknown) of South Carolina & Amanda May Bridges (1835-c. 1880; grave unknown) of Mississippi, who were married in 1850. See 1850 census at right.

The other children in the 1850 & 1860 Lawrence County, MS, census at right include James Bickham Bridges (1844-?), Peter's half-brother by Berry Bridges' first wife, Sarah Bickham. Mary Ann Bridges Collins (1851-?; m. Nathaniel W. Collins) & Leah Amanda Bridges Magee (1855-1896; Memorial# 93420116; m. Wade Magee 1857-1923) are Peter's full sisters.

Peter was named for his father's brother, Peter Quin Bridges (1801-1839 in Lawrence County, MS) and for his great-grandfather, Peter Quin, Sr., the Revolutionary War patriot from Ireland.

Peter Quin Bridges was the son of Berry Robertson Bridges, who was the son of Nancy Quin Bridges & James Bridges. Nancy Quin Bridges was the daughter of Peter Quin, Sr.

Peter Quin Bridges married Louvenia Mullins (1856-1901) on June 25, 1875, in Lawrence County, MS.
