WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - Mrs. Mary June (Overstreet) Henry, 92, died with grace on May 17, 2010 at Berkshire Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born in Beaumont, TX to Adele M. Planchard and William S. Overstreet. She was raised in Shreveport, LA and attended St. Vincent's Academy and Fair Park High School. On her mother's side, she was directly descended from Francois de Bellevue Barbin, who was sent to LA by King Louis XIV in 1703 to form a colony at the mouth of the Mississippi River; and on her father's side, from Guillamet Fuqua, who led a group of persecuted Huguenots from France to Virginia in the 1600's.

Mrs. Henry was a girl singer with big bands in her youth, and through her music, she met her husband who was a professional saxophone player. She married Warren H. Henry on March 28, 1939 in Shreveport and they had two children: Timothy Warren and Bonnie Henry Bishoff. She made her home with Bonnie and her son in law, Dr. Robert Bishoff in Williamstown. She was the beloved "Junie" to her two grandsons- Aaron Bret and Joshua Henry Bishoff. She has one sister and a brother who is deceased, as well as six nephews, a niece, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Her family simply adored her.

After raising her children, Mrs. Henry went to work in retail sales for Selber Bros. Dept. Store in Shreveport. During her 25 years of work there she became a member of the Million Dollar Club, and was honored with the Employee of the Year Award.

In August of 1985, she and her husband moved to Williamstown to be near family. He died on January 6, 1986 and she took employment with the Antique Center at Heritage Park, working there from its first day to its last. In her eighties, she began delivering meals year-round all over northern Berkshire for Meals on Wheels. When she was 87, she retired, and at 89 she became a regular client at the Northern Berkshire Adult Day Health Care Center. She remained with the group until her death and leaves very dear friends there. Her memory will be cherished forever by everyone who knew her.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The family requests no flowers, but hopes those wishing to remember Mrs. Henry to make a donation to Northern Berkshire Adult Day Health Care in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247
