CAROL JEAN BALL, 74 MACHESNEY PARK - Carol Jean Ball, 74, of Machesney Park passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Oct. 29, 1936, in Belvidere, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Anderson) Ahlberg. Graduated from Belvidere High School. Married Gerald F. Ball on Dec. 31,1955, in Caledonia. Carol was a homemaker and lived in Machesney Park for the last 44 years. Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Roscoe Post 2955.

Survivors include sons, Charles (Anne) Ball of German Valley and Clayton Ball of Roscoe; daughter, Gina (Michael) McLaren of Rockton; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Gerald; and great-grandson, Tyler Ball.

Service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, in Belvidere Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dean Parker Chaplain of OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center officiating. Interment in Roscoe Township Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the funeral home. A memorial is being established in her memory.
