She was born in Amsterdam, NY on October 19, 1917, daughter of John Knapik and Antonia Cionek Knapik. Mrs. Van Schaick was educated at the Millpoint Country School. She was a resident of Nelliston, NY for most of her life.
Mrs. Van Schaick was employed as a gum machine operator at Beech-Nut Corp. for over 30 years.
Adella was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church.
She married Harold A. Van Schaick on September 12, 1936 in Amsterdam, NY, he predeceased her on October 1, 1989.
She was also predeceased by two brothers Alex and Edward Knapik and sister Josie Albright.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Wilbur and Virginia Van Schaick of Fort Plain, NY; three grandchildren Brenda Dias of Palatine Bridge, NY, Richard Van Schaick of St. Johnsville, NY and Robert and his wife Fay Van Schaick of Palatine Bridge, NY; three great-grandchildren McKayla and Kristofer Dias and Luke Van Schaick.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & amp; Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain, NY with Father Kenneth Swain officiating.
Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda, NY.
There will be no calling hours.
