Noah was the son of Amos Ford (1709-1762) and Rebecca Churchill (8 Jan 1712 Pembroke/Plymouth City, MA) and was born in Pembroke, Plymouth Co, MA. Rebecca was the daughter of William Churchill (1685-1760) and Ruth Bryant (1685-1757).

As a young man, he moved to Litchfield Co, CT and on 2 Sep 1754 he married Betty Chandler 1733-1758 (daughter of Joseph Chandler 1680-1774 and Deborah Bonney 1704-1775) in Cornwall, Litchfield Co, CT. They had 3 children, Betty 1755-1849, Seth 1757-1810, and Ross b act 1759.

After Betty died, Noah moved to Piermont, Grafton Co, NH by 1776 and stayed there until he died in 1811.
