Paul Collins, 82, of Pine St. in Danville died on August 4, 2014 at his home. He was born the youngest of eight children on April 7, 1932 in Portsmouth, NH, son of Herbert and Hilja (Koskinen) Collins.

Paul lived his whole life on Pine St. in Danville. He attended the Eaton School and Sanborn Seminary in Kingston and served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War on the USS Siboney CVE112.

Upon returning he married Patricia White on April 23, 1955 and they shared a wonderful life together for 59 years. Paul was formerly a police officer and eventually served as Chief of Police in Danville and he was regularly involved in town affairs serving on the Planning Board, treasurer of the Parsonage Committee and was also a Boy Scout Leader. As a carpenter, Paul owned his own business and greatly enjoyed restoring the historical buildings in town such as the Town Hall, the Meeting House and the Little Red School House.

Paul was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Patricia (White) Collins of Danville; two daughters Pamela and her husband Kerry Bronk of Surfside Beach, SC, Sheryl and her husband Steven Johnson of Waterboro, ME; two sons David and his wife Rebecca Collins of Danville and Scott Collins of E. Hampstead, NH; 14 grandchildren Eben and Jael Bronk, Brian, Peter and Rachel Collins, Joshua, Erik, Jakob, Kendra, Levi, Gabrielle, Jebediah, and Kylie Johnson, and Kelsey Collins. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy Rowe of Brentwood, NH and Barbara Gorton of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 1:00 PM, at the Danville Baptist Church, 226 Main St., Danville, NH. Burial with military honors will follow in Centre Cemetery in Danville. Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH is assisting the family with the arrangements.
