Armando was born in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Victor and Francisca Aguilar. The Aguilar family relocated to Waco in 1967, with only a job in a new department at L.L. Sams & Sons Stained Glass Studio. Here the family made a home, friends and relatives. He was a craftsman in stained glass, which was his job and his hobby. He retired from L.L. Sams & Sons in 1994, at the time of their closing.
Armando remained a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, although not able to attend mass, he watched on TV on Sunday morning. He enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers Baseball and Dallas Cowboys, and sometimes hearing his children yell at them and reminding them they can't hear you.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Consuelo "Connie" Sanchez Aguilar; sister, Susie Ramirez; and brothers: Mike, Robert, and Rudy Aguilar.
Survivors include his daughters, Yolanda Aguilar, of Waco, and Irene Hernandez and husband, Ronnie, of Valley Mills, Texas; sons: Victor Aguilar and wife, Anita, Tony Aguilar, Sr. and Tina Batey, Armando Luis Aguilar and wife, Sylvia, and Alfred Aguilar and wife, Delores, all of Waco; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Gilbert Aguilar and wife, Maria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
