SCRANTON WOMEN DIES FROM BURNS--

Mrs. Clyde Borders, 33, of Scranton, died Saturday night in the St. Anthony's hospital at Carroll from burns which she received Thursday, when a can of kerosene with which she was trying to hasten a fire, exploded in her hands.

Little hope was held from the start for Mrs. Borders, as her entire body was burned. Blazing oil was thrown over her and the clothing was almost entirely burned from her body before her husband, attracted by her screams, could extinguish the flames. He sustained bad burns about the face, arms and head. He wrapped his wife in bed clothing and ran to neighbor's home for assistance.

Mrs. Borders was given medical attention by Dr. S.H. Arthur and was later taken to Carroll hospital where it was found she had sustained serious burns about the body, head, arms & legs.

Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Scranton, Tuesday afternoon, in charge of the pastor Rev. E.E. Briggs, and burial was at the Scranton cemetery.

GRACE MYRTLE WEVER was born in Audubon County, Iowa, Feb 27, 1897, and died at the Carroll hospital February 15, 1930, at the age of 32 years, 11 months and 19 days. She married Robert Dawson at 1914 and to this union were born three children: Foster, age 15, Alyce age 13, Billy age 9. In 1928, she married Clyde Borders.

Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm H. Wever, survive her. She was one of thirteen children, one brother, Lewis and one sister, Mable having preceded her in death. The living brothers and sisters are: Mrs. John (Lola) Powers, Lodi, Calif.; Mrs. Ernest (Olive) Craig, Pioneer, Iowa; Mrs. Connie (Lora) Sease of Rolfe, Iowa; Mrs. Marie Stenson, of Minneapolis, Minn.; Elmo, Rose and Blair, at home.
