Gary Dean Fuller

Gary Dean Fuller, 49, of rural Emporia, Kansas, died Monday, August 25, 2014 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia. He was killed by a falling tree branch in the 2000 block of Road "M" after lightning struck a tree Monday.

Gary was born July 13, 1965 in Emporia, the son of Kenneth and Carlene (Munson) Fuller. He was a graduate of Butler County Community College and attended Kansas State University.

He married Lisa Keller on April 1, 1989 at the First Christian Church in Emporia. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include: sons, Lane Fuller and Logan Fuller, both of Emporia; his parents, Kenneth and Carlene Fuller of Emporia; a brother, Gail Fuller and Lynnette Miller (companion) of Emporia; nephew, Colby Fuller of Kansas City; niece, Kelsey Fuller and Justin Keith (companion) of Allen; and a cousin, Jennifer Abbott of Shawnee, Kansas; brother-in-law, Shaun Pedersen and sister-in-law Amy Pedersen; brother-in-law, T.J. Orender and sister-in-law, Anne Orender; brother-in-law, Michael Keller, and sister-in-law, Vanessa Keller; brother-in-law Daniel Keller and companion, Jessica Goodall; Denise Foster (Keith); and nephews and nieces, Tyler and Kyle Pedersen, Codie, Dakota and Weston Orender, Drew and Michaela Keller, and Laya and Beau Goodall.

Gary owned and operated Fuller Hay LLC and Triple F Trucking Inc. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Emporia, National Wild Turkey Federation, and the National Rifle Association. He served as the 4-H Lyon County swine coordinator, the Cloverleaf 4-H Club swine leader, and was also a lifetime member of Cloverleaf 4-H Club.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 29, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Emporia. Interment will follow in Americus Cemetery, Americus, Kansas. Pastor Michael Badenhop of Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis, Kansas, and Pastor Susan J. Schubert of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Emporia will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia.

The family requests no flowers. A memorial fund will be designated later.
