Fred Louis Haller was the sixth of eleven children born to John Charles & Addie Mary Vincent Haller. He was born in a sod house in Webster County Nebraska near the town of Bladen.

From handed-down history of the Haller family, it appears Fred Louis was known by the name "Fritz" when young. A picture of him at about seven months old is identified as "Fritz" with his brother Michael and sister Bertha. He was always a big, robust child, bursting out of his clothes. (I will post the photograph as it was taken by the sod house where he was born in 1905.) The family moved to Beverly, Nebraska the following year where the remaining five of his brothers and sisters were born.

Fred married Ruth Dean Sparks who was born September 1, 1907. They had two children, Lloyd Raymond Haller born February 7, 1929 and Phyllis Jean Haller born September 6, 1932.

Fred died of scarlet fever in November of 1935 when he was little more than thirty years old. He is buried in the Flagler Cemetery in Kit Carson County in Colorado. Ruth married Ernest Berns on December 28, 1938. Ernest was a cousin of Fred's being the son of J.P. & Maria Anna Haller Berns. Ruth died in 1963.
