"Funeral Services for John Baker Were Held Here Sunday.
Funeral services for John H. Baker, 90, were held Sunday, August 8th at 2:30 p.m. from the Church of Christ in Rush Springs with Raymond Murray officiating.
Baker was born May 26, 1881 in McClelan County, Texas and died Thursday, August 5th, at 11:55 p.m. at his home following a heart attack. He was married to Martha Leverett on December 4, 1904 in Montague County, Texas, and had lived in Rush Springs for 59 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Church of Christ.
Burial was in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Callaway-Smith Funeral Home.
Bearers were C.C. Jinks Burnes Burns, Jim Leu, Glen Jones, M.L. Todd and Raymond Gibbs.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Baker of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Margie Cloud of Rush Springs; one granddaughter, Mrs. Maxine Barrington of Rush Springs; 3 grandsons, Randle Cloud of Norman, Gary Cloud of Rush Springs and Douglas Cloud of Lawrence, Kansas and five great grandchildren."
