John AdamsJohn Quincy Adams, 85, a retired rancher, died Tuesday June 13, 1967. He had been in ill health for six weeks.Born at SDaxton, MO April 16, 1882 to John G. and Mary (Thompson) Adams he grew up in Missouri and attended Wentworth Military Academy at Lexington, MO. He married Grace Snider at Albany, Mo March 23, 1903.He was the first president of the Farmers Union at King City, MO and was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Agency, MO for 61 years and the Presbyterian Church at K8ing City. Mr. and Mrs. Adams moved to Wiggins, CO in 1929 and later to Estes Park, CO before coming to Greeley in 1946. Mr. Adams was a past president of the Federal Land Bank at Wiggins and through the years had served on several school boards. He was a senior member of the Weld County Rock and Mineral Society.Mrs. Adams died in 1960.Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Vanita Gardner of Greeley, Mrs. Pete (Marguerite) Freeman of Briggsdale, and Mrs.Max (Virginia) Hursh of Riverton, WY; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 1967 at Adamson Memorial Chapel.
