Waynesville – Ted Vernon Clark, age 84, of the Bethel community, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at his residence.

A native and lifelong residence of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Herbert Vernon and Maud Warren Clark; In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Edward and Charles Doice Clark and three sisters, Edna Clark Rogers, Pearl Clark Henry Ward and Marie Clark Barrier. Ted retired with 30 years service from Bellsouth Telephone Company as an installer. He was an active member and involved at Longs United Methodist Church. Ted enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to his apple orchard and his hobby of bee keeping. He was loved by all who knew him, especially by his family who remembers him as a wonderful, loving and attentive husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, two sons two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Rennie Salata officiating. Burial will follow at Long's Community Cemetery.
