William S. Abeel, a well known resident of Rome, died at the residence of his mother on George Street in this city last Tuesday, aged about 50 years. He was a son of the late Capt. James S. Abeel, and had spent his whole life in Rome. He had been totally blind for nearly thirty years but had become so familiar with out streets that he was accustomed to finding his way from store to store without a guide. His familiar figure will be missed by our citizens.
