Anita E. Ference of Greenville, formerly of Sharon, passed away at 4:32 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at home. She was 65.

Born Jan. 30, 1946 in Sharon, she was the daughter of Harry and Ola L. (Ward) Elberty.

Anita graduated in 1964 from Sharon High School.

Ms. Ference was currently working as a receptionist for Jones Gregg Creehan & Gerace Law Offices of Sharon. Prior to that she was a homemaker and co-owner and operator of Gibbs Floral, Farrell.

She was a member of Holy Angels Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wilmerding, Pa.

Anita was a member of the girl’s Buhl Club, an avid volleyball player and enjoyed walking in Buhl Park and reading. She taught CCD for St. Stanislaus Kostka-Holy Trinity Church for 20 years and led several scripture readings at her home in Sharon.

Surviving are her former husband, Joseph A. Ference of Sharon, two sons Todd Ference and his wife Lindy of Mercer and Kenneth Ference and his partner Bill Fry of West Newton, Pa., a sister Ruth Sewinsky and her husband Henry of Greenville, a brother Harry E. Elberty and his wife Garda of Hermitage, and grandchildren Andy Fry Ference, Abigail Ference, Zachary Ference and Jenna Ference.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Joseph Anthony Ference Jr., and her sister Carole Dute.

Burial: Cremation and burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
