Harry Richardson, 88, of Rainbow Lane, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 at Del Sol Hospital in El Paso, Texas.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Assoc. Pastor Dave Bryant officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Harry Richardson was born September 8, 1925 in Roosevelt County, New Mexico to Henry H. and Anna Martha (Bennett) Richardson. He grew up on a farm near Elida where he attended school. Harry served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He married Maria Qualls on August 12, 1946 in Elida, NM. They moved to Carlsbad in 1952, where Harry worked for the potash mines as a truck driver for many years and retired from United Salt. He enjoyed hunting, traveling and camping. Harry was a long time member of Otis Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Richardson; granddaughter, Tina Tornabene; sisters: Edna Willoughby, Verda Trujillo; brothers: Harold and Henry Richardson.
Survivors are his son, Randy Richardson and wife, Karen of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Kathy Hood of El Paso, TX; grandchildren: Russell Hood and wife, Amanda, Laura Lopez and husband, Patrick, Sharyl Lowe and husband, Everett, Dustin Hood and wife, Vel and grandson-in-law, Al Tornabene; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Lopez, Everett Lowe, Dustin Hood, Al Tornabene, Russell Hodd and James Hood.
Memorial contributions may be made to a non-profit hospice of the donor’s choice.
