HASTINGS — Marlita Mae Burnham, 78, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at CHI Health St. Francis, Grand Island.
Services will be will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.
Marlita was born March 27, 1936, to Walter and Gertrude (Miller) Reiners. Marlita grew up on a farm six miles north of Juniata. She attended Country School 32, Christ Lutheran School, and attended Juniata High School and graduated in 1953.
She married William Burnham on Sept. 22, 1951. They were married for almost 63 years. Marlita worked at OP Skaggs for six years. She was a full-time housewife and mother.
She was a member of National Guard Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles, and an honorary member of the VFW. Marlita enjoyed bingo, playing cards, gardening and having fun. She loved family time, especially the holidays when all her family could get together. They all had a wonderful time.
Marlita was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott Burnham; and a son-in-law, Scott Stramel.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Burnham; children and spouses, Terry and Beth Burnham, Maribeth and Mike Bruns, Todd and Laurie Burnham, Melody Helton and Lyle Auker, Lisa Stramel, David and Marlene Burnham, Renae and Bill Henrichs and Joey and Michele Burnham; grandchildren and spouses, Carl and Amanda Burnham, Tabetha Burnham, Toby Burnham and Alex Bruce, Matthew and Rebecca Bruns, Tori Burnham, Megan Holmes, Samantha Holmes, Brittanie Friedrichson, Chris Friedrichson, Nicholas and Ann Helton, Isaac and Ashly Helton, Willie Stramel, Amanda Stramel, Chris and Dawn Henrichs, Nicole Henrichs and Eric Willford, Mercedes Russell and Zach Boden, Jaden Russell and Wyatt Russell; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Robert Zalman; a niece, Shelley Brandon and two nephews, Jay Zalman and Kipp Zalman.
