Lawrence "Jeff" Etherton, 62, of DeSoto, passed away at 2:38 PM Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Helia Health Care of Carbondale, Illinois.
Lawrence was born on August 18, 1952, in Murphysboro, to Charles Eugene Etherton and Olive Lee (Lane) Etherton.
Mr. Etherton had worked as a janitor at Penn Aluminum in Murphysboro.
He was an avid Cardinal fan.
Jeff is survived by three children Karen Maes of DeSoto, Cheryl Chervinko of Durham, NC, and Jeff Maes of San Benito, TX; four grandchildren: Ryan, Eric, Shelbie, and Ethan Chervinko; and many of his Facebook friends, who have been very supportive.
He was preceded in death by one brother Charlie Etherton and his parents.
His body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 5 pm Friday, August 29, 2014, at Pettett Funeral Home with Eric Schuler officiating.
