Served with Co D of the 19th Alabama Infantry Regiment. Date of enlistment unknown. The 19th Alabama was organized in Huntsville, Alabama on September 4, 1861. Surrendered at Durham Station, NC April 26, 1865. Served with Dea's Brigade, Hindman's Division of the Army of Tennessee. Reuben Griffith was wounded September 20, 1863 at the battle of Chickamauga and died of his wounds Oct 30 1863. Reuben was survived by his wife Martha and six children.
