LAKE GENEVA-James Roy Allen, 82, 1109 Wisconsin St., died early Tuesday morning in the Walworth County Home after a long illness. He had resided in Lake Geneva 35 years, coming here from Chicago. Mr. Allen was a prominent architect in Florida, Chicago and Lake Geneva and designed the Riviera on the Lake Ballroom, Lake Geneva, and various other area buildings. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois School of Architecture. Born March 9, 1883, in Robinson, Ill., he was the son of Singleton E. and Adeline Whitaker Allen. He married Florence E Carlson July 30, 1929, in New York City. He was a member of the Lake Geneva Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife; a son, Capt. Gustaf R Carlson, Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Isabelle Williams, Atlanta, Ga.; nieces and nephews. A brother, Beryl Allen, predeceased him. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
