He was born on December 10, 1926 in Iota, Louisiana to Louise and Jeff Miller.
He and Mary Short Miller were married March 2, 1945. Fred was U.S. Army veteran and retired as a machinist from Ameripol-Synpol in Port Neches in 1990. He was a member and deacon at Southside Baptist Church in Port Neches, and a member of Campers on Mission of Louisiana.
He loved his family, music, and was always willing to help anyone who called on him. After he retired he spent much of his time volunteering, working on buildings at Acadia Baptist Center in Eunice, LA.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bob Miller, Rodney Miller, and George Dale Miller, and sister, Jean Hebert, all of Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Miller; two daughters, Pam McGraw and husband, Ronnie and Paula Metzinger and husband, Phil; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Mareta Touchett and husband, Earl, Nell Pelliern and husband, Joe and Antoinette Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
