SHINNSTON — Virginia Louise Abraham, 79, went to be with the lord September 15, 2010, following extended illness.
She was born at home in Shinnston, August 16, 1931, the only child of Roy Edward Kocher and Mildred B. “Shorty” (Mick) Kocher.
She was employed by G.C. Murphy Co. as a bookkeeper for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abe G. Abraham, in 1987. She is survived by two children, Dr. Matthew Abraham of Fairmont, and Malissa Thomas of Bridgeport. Her son, Matthew and wife Lisa are the parents of Matthew David, Luke Andrew, Lauren Elizabeth and the late Mark Wayne Abraham. Her daughter, Malissa and husband Tony have one son, John Paul Thomas.
She enjoyed attending services at Christian Assembly Church of Nutter Fort.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston from 2-8 p.m. Friday and noon-1 p.m. Saturday. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Fred Aves officiating. Interment will follow at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
