Despondent over continued ill health, which kept him from work, Harvey A. Dixon, 42, 104 Spencer Avenue, East Kingsford, ended his life sometime Tuesday or yesterday, by asphyxiation.
He left home in his car Tuesday morning & was not seen again until last night, when is lifeless body was removed from his car, parked in a narrow lane near Hydraulic Road on Breitung Avenue.
Dixon died from carbon monoxide-poisoning entering the car from a rubber hose attached to the exhaust pipe. Rigor mortis had set in, indicating that Dixon had been dead for some time.
Dixon came to Iron Mountain about 20 years ago & was employed at the Ford Motor Plant until ill health forced him to quit work.
He leaves his widow, 3 children, Jnt, Richard & Bruce, all at home; his father, William; 2 sisters: Mrs. R.C. Snaverly & Mrs. L.V. Littell & a brother, Claude, all of Carlock, Ill.
Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
