COX, Jordean Rose
Born in Roseville, CA on August 19, 1925, to Johann "John" and Etje Christina (Jordan) Hirtel, Jordean Rose Cox peacefully passed away at her home on November 12, 2013, surrounded by loved ones. Married to Ed Cox on Christmas Day in 1945, and known as 'Mom,' 'Grandma,' and 'Jerry' by her family and wonderful friends, she will be forever loved and cherished by her four children, Charles Cox, Barbara Killingsworth, Bonny Scheier, and Carol McCall, as well as grandchildren Tammy, Roland, Jolene, Jesse, Joey, Leah, Allison, Kristianne, Jason, Andy, Julianne, Chris, and Ashley, and by nineteen great grandchildren. Jordean was a loving daughter to John and Christina Hirtel and adoring sister to John Hirtel, Irene Vix, Edwin Hirtel, Lorraine Treis, Bill Hirtel, Nancy Ferko, Patsy Flint, and Lois Lunetta. She embodied a loving embrace of the world at her door and was loved by many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors that were fortunate to have her in their lives. Both family and friends always knew they were welcome to her home where they were greeted with a warm smile, a hug, and a hot cup of coffee. Funeral services will begin Monday, November 18, 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park, followed by a Celebration of Life at her home. Guests are asked to bring a dish to share. In lieu of floral arrangements, please bring a rose plant for Mom's Rose Garden.
