GLEN ROCK - Thomas F. "Cookie" Bailey, 76, of Glen Rock, died at 5:25 am. Saturday at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Norma Jene (Smith) Bailey. The couple observed their 51st wedding anniversary last Oct. 25.
The service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Glen Rock, with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bailey was born Aug. 27, 1923, in Shrewsbury Township. He was the son of the late Charles E. and Emma L. (Crawford) Bailey.
He was a master plumber and manager at Mowery Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, retiring in 1984 after 37 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 506th Military Police Battalion in Normandy and the European Theater of Operations. He attended Zion Lutheran Church in Glen Rock and was a member of Austin L. Grove American Legion Post 403 in Glen Rock, Glen Yore Hunting Camp in Clinton County, and American Association of Retired Persons.
Mr. Bailey is survived by a son, Kenneth F. Bailey of Glen Rock; two daughters, Linda J. McQuaid and Marsha L. Martin, both of Hedgesville, W. Va.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul E. Bailey of Glen Rock; and a sister, Virginia Apps of Jarrettsville, Md.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. James E. Ward, pastor of Temple Baptist Church in York.
