Henrietta C. Melchert, age 93, of Aurora, IL passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Countryside Care Centre, Aurora, IL.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL. 60506. A complete obituary will be in tomorrow's edition. Henrietta C. "Muddie" Melchert, 93 of Aurora, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Countryside Care Center. She was born July 22, 1914 in Aurora, IL.

Henrietta, with her husband, Elmer, were the original owners of Elmer's Doghouse, which she managed from 1945-1968 and also Gaslite Manor, which she managed from 1969 until her retirement in 1985.

She was a member of Annunciation Church and also a member of the Ladies of Columbus Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirlee (Neal) Fichtel and JoAnn Assell, both of Aurora; daughter-in-law, Barbara Melchert of Biloxi, MS; 15 grandchildren, Dave (Lynn) Fichtel, Julie (Joe) Chivari, Kathy (Ray) Rehberg, Tim (Jeannie) Fichtel, Ellen (Greg) Peters, Amy (Steve) Schwartz, Norman Turner, Michael (Christine) Turner, Lisa (Gary) Wright, Cyndi (Frank) Butz, Brad Melchert, Mark (Donna) Melchert, Debbie Melchert, Renee Melchert and Elmer Melchert II; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; sons, Ronald and Richard; son-in-law, William Assell; grandson Christopher Fichtel; sisters, Dorothy Conoscenti, Lillian Berger, Lucille Brown and by her brother, Carl Wolgast.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 10:00 am at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Annunciation Church at 10:30 am. Fr. Mario Pedi, O.S.B. will officiate with interment at Marywood Cemetery.
